Two people, thirteen films, and a directory.
Almost no old film has audio description. If you are blind and want to watch Night of the Living Dead, there has never been a way to follow it. Not because it is technically hard. Because there is no money in describing a film nobody owns.
We are Tape Territory, two people in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
How the work is actually made
The description scripts are written by AI that watches the film and writes the cues, reel by reel. A person reviews every title and corrects it before anything ships. The voice is synthetic as standard, or recorded by a person in our own studio when a film warrants it. We say so on every film we publish.
That is the only reason a company this size can describe a catalog instead of one film a month, and we would rather explain it than have somebody discover it.
The part we got wrong
On 8 September 2026 we checked eight of our described films against the American Council of the Blind’s Audio Description Project directory. That directory is the register blind viewers actually search when they want something to watch.
Zero rows. Every one.
The work existed, it was free, it was finished, and it was invisible to the exact people it was built for. We had been describing films and publishing them into a room nobody we were building for could see.
What happened next
We sent the ACB a spreadsheet at about four in the afternoon on 9 September. It was loaded and live the same evening.
Tape Territory is now one of 25 providers listed in that directory. The others include Prime Video, with 8,333 described titles. Netflix, with 3,228. Disney+, with 1,474.
We are on it with 13.
Why any of that matters
Not the count. The list.
Everything else on this site is us describing our own work. That directory is somebody else’s, and they decide who goes in it. If you are trying to work out whether we are any good, that is worth more than anything we could write here, and less than simply listening to one of the films, which is free and takes no account.
