Suddenly (1954), Frank Sinatra as a hired gun in a rented house waiting for the president's train. Watch the full 1950s film noir free, no account needed.

Three men take a house on the hill above a small California town, tie up the family inside, and set a rifle at the window. The president's train stops below at five o'clock. Sterling Hayden is the sheriff, and Sinatra plays the gunman as chatty, vain and completely hollow, which surprised people who had only heard him sing.

It is a cheap picture, mostly one room, and it works because of him.

The stories that attached to it after 1963 are murkier than they get told. Sinatra is said to have wanted it out of circulation after Dallas, though he did not own it and could not have pulled it, and nothing has ever established Oswald saw it. The copyright lapsed in 1982, which is why it is free.
