A blackmailer's body is left in a parked car outside police headquarters, and Lieutenant Sam Carson gets one long night to work out who put it there before the city's politics settle the question for him. William Gargan is the cop, Carole Landis is the suspect with the most to lose, and in a picture this tight they are circling each other by the second reel.
Otto Brower directed it and did not live to see it open. He died of a heart attack on January 25, 1946, three weeks before the release. Joseph MacDonald shot it, a few years short of the Panic in the Streets location work that made his name.
Fox built these to fill the bottom half of a double bill. This one moves.
