The Bat

The Bat (1959) with Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead: a clawed killer, a mystery writer and a house with money in the walls. Watch the full movie free online.
Agnes Moorehead is a crime novelist who rents a country house for the summer and finds it contains a fortune in stolen bank money nobody can locate, plus a clawed killer who intends to. Vincent Price is the doctor next door. Moorehead plays her as a woman more irritated than frightened, and she is the reason the thing holds together.
Crane Wilbur wrote and directed, working from the Mary Roberts Rinehart and Avery Hopwood stage play that had already been filmed twice, in 1926 and again in 1930 as The Bat Whispers.
It is an old dark house picture arriving thirty years after the fashion, and entirely comfortable about that.
