A man breaks and runs, and is shot in the back. The bandits reach four saddled horses in the woods and ride out; back at the office a girl comes in with a pail and finds the operator still on the floor where they left him. Edwin S. Porter directed it for Edison in 1903. It runs ten and a half minutes, carries no intertitles at all, and its only words are on the title card.
